SARA
All animals should have freedom from thirst, hunger and malnutrition. Freedom from discomfort and pain, injury and disease. Freedom from fear and distress and freedom to express normal behaviour.
You may have seen similar services before but I can guarantee you this is different. Why? Aside from my love and passion for dogs and their welfare I’ve trained hard to achieve this with the aim of making a positive difference to your dog’s life.
My knowledge and services have been designed to work alongside and compliment traditional veterinary care yet our training and care has a natural approach. With a Level 4 NVQ in dog behaviour, training and management alongside nutrition, crystals and the most holistic approach. I am fully insured, canine 1st aid trained, DBS checked and I am a member of the Canine Massage Guild.
So let me introduce myself. I’m Sara and having worked for many years in the corporate world of local and central government I wasn’t happy and wanted a job that wasn’t just paying the bills. I wanted to enjoy my work and feel like I was making a positive difference.
After completing Reiki Master training I went looking for my change and a course with the Canine Massage Therapy Centre www.k9-massage.co.uk to become a practitioner kept coming up and I decided to trust the universe and apply.
I have completed a 2-year training course with over 1200 hours of knowledge of canine anatomy and physiology with various dog breeds. I have completed training in 4 disciplines of massage; Swedish, deep tissue, sports and myofascial release (direct and indirect). Since my initial training I have undergone over 50 hours of CPD (Continuous professional development) to add extra skills and knowledge. With the upcoming change to the veterinary Act I am also now undertaking additional training to turn my skills into a formal level 5 NVQ qualification.
I support the rehabilitation of acute injuries and provide pain management and support for chronic orthopaedic conditions such as hip/ elbow dysplasia and arthritis as well as treating a range of soft tissue and muscular issues. Differences which can be seen in 1 to 3 sessions.
I am a qualified Reiki master and this can be completed alongside Canine Massage or separately. My aim is to provide support, advice and care for your dog to make sure they stay as comfortable, pain free and have happy tails for as long as possible.
More importantly I am a proud dog mam, my dogs have and always will be my whole world. The reason I do everything. The difference I’ve seen in my own dog’s mobility and demeanour showed me early on in my training that massage really does improve quality of life. At present I also volunteer for Labradors in Need, rehoming and supporting the charity.
ABI
I found my love for dogs with a Wheaten Terrier called Orla at age 2 and from then, it has only grown. From working part time at a boarding kennels to owning Pawsuit of Happiness, Enrichment Focused Daycare, it’s been a wild 12 years working with dogs.
The driving force behind creating this space for dogs, is my very own girl Darcy. Early last year I started looking for a place we could swim together and have that bonding time. She is a very keen swimmer and I knew how much she would enjoy the time together in the swimming pool, I knew I would enjoy it much more than swimming in the North Sea!
From there, we started a daycare swim club and I’ve watched so many dogs gain their confidence in the pool. Learning new skills, getting exercise and having fun with our daycare staff and other dogs. It’s not only helped us bond with them, but it’s given them a wonderful new experience and enriched their lives which is my main focus when it comes to our daycare dogs.
Pawsuit Of Happy Tails Wellness is the next step in giving our dogs a well-rounded, enriched experience. Creating a holistic space that encourages ethical practice and the overall well-being of our dogs.
From The Team At Pawsuit Of Happiness
